Acupuncture involves the insertion of fine, single-use, sterile needles into specific points across the body. These points are found along acupuncture ‘channels’: lines on the body where blood and energy, or ‘Qi’ flow. In Chinese Medicine, disease is understood to occur from imbalances, invasion of pathogens and blockages of this flow.
Our bodies are already equipped with powerful self-healing functions. Acupuncture focuses on activating these where they may be weak, or calming them when overactive. Overall, acupuncture simply helps to body to use it’s own resources more effectively.
Kiah appreciates that acupuncture is a scientifically-backed, holistic form of medicine, and always practices with evidence-based methods in mind.
